You could get $7,000 or more from a Class Action Settlement, if the New York Police Department forced you to remove a religious head covering for a post-arrest photograph while in custody.

The Settlement, pending Court approval, resolves claims that the City of New York violated the law when it forced individuals to remove their religious head coverings for photographs after arrests.

If you were forced to remove a religious head covering for a photograph while in custody of the New York City Police Department from March 16, 2014 to August 23, 2021, you are eligible for a payment between $7,824 and $13,125.

You must submit a claim form to receive payment.
